Frequently Asked Questions
how often should my dog be groomed?
Every 4–8 weeks is ideal, depending on your dog’s breed, coat type, and lifestyle. Long-haired or curly-coated dogs may need more frequent grooming to stay comfortable and tangle-free.
how long does grooming take?
Most grooming appointments take around 1.5 -3 hours. The time depends on your dog’s size, coat condition, and temperament.
what’s included in a full grooming session?
My grooming packages include:
Bath & blow dry
Brush out & haircut (if needed)
Nail trim & paw care
Ear cleaning
Sanitary trim
We also offer extras like de-shedding treatments
do i need an appointment?
Yes, I work by appointment to give each pup the attention they deserve and I only do one dog at a time as I do not use cages. Quick services like nail trims may be available at short notice.
what if my dog is nervous or aggressive?
Don’t worry—I am experienced with anxious pups and use gentle, calming techniques. If your dog is aggressive, please let us know ahead of time so we can plan the safest approach.
can puppies be groomed?
Absolutely! Once your puppy is fully vaccinated (usually around 12 weeks), grooming is a great way to help them get used to the process early. Puppies are better long term the sooner they start their puppy grooms.
Before your appointment
should i brush my dog first?
If you can, yes! Regular brushing at home helps prevent matting and makes grooming more comfortable. But don’t worry—we’ll handle tangles if needed
should my dog eat before grooming?
A light meal a couple of hours beforehand is fine. Please avoid feeding a large meal right before their appointment.
do i need to stay whilst my dog is groomed?
Nope! In fact, most dogs relax more when their owners aren’t in the room. We’ll call or text you as soon as your pup is ready for pickup. But happy to accommodate you staying if you want to.
special services
do you groom senior dogs?
Yes—with extra patience and care. We’ll adjust the process to keep senior pups comfortable.
do you offer de-shedding?
Yes! My de-shedding treatments (like Furminator) are perfect for double-coated breeds and help reduce shedding at home.
